Florida Spring Trip – April 12th – 17th
Over spring break, the GCHS Marching Warriors traveled to sunny Orlando, Florida, to perform in Walt Disney World’s “Magic Music Days”. The students experienced the performance of a lifetime as they marched down Main Street, U.S.A., in Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom “Festival of Fantasy Parade”. The students also had the rare experience of studying with a Walt Disney World Professional Entertainer in the “You’re Instrumental” Recording Studio Workshop. The workshop examined the skills, attributes, and attitudes performers must exhibit in a professional atmosphere while focusing on the importance of self-discipline and setting priorities. Students even had the unique opportunity to experience the demands and realities of being a professional musician while recording a segment of the soundtrack to the Disney Animated Feature film, “The Lion King.” Congrats Marching Warriors on successfully representing Granite City High School!
