Steel City Sound consists of two pep bands that perform at several home boys and girls basketball games and several pep assemblies. Band students enrolled in the GCHS Varsity Band, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Bands will be required to participate in one of the pep bands as part of their regular full band grade. Pep Band rehearsals will take place during the daily full band class. Students will be assigned to the Red or Black Pep Band based on their initial auditions for chair placement in the Concert Ensembles. Steel City Sound performs a variety of music from classic rock to more modern alternative and pop.
